Engagement Manager, Large Scale Drupal 

Large Scale Drupal (LSD) is a strategic initiative within Acquia’s Office of the CTO (OCTO).  The primary goal of LSD is to improve Drupal by addressing the specific needs and challenges of the largest Drupal users.  We enable large scale users to collaborate on and drive long-term improvements to the platform through joint development efforts, leveraging economies of scale, while obtaining short-term benefits through networking, knowledge sharing, education, and best practices.

We are looking for an experienced entrepreneurial leader to manage day to day Member benefits and services of the Large Scale Drupal project and help shape, implement, and grow the program. The position requires a background in consulting and/or project management, and experience managing teams and budgets. You will leverage the resources from other functional teams within Acquia, and be responsible for managing a diverse set of teams comprised of external resources (contractors, Partners, Members, etc.). 

You will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Large Scale Drupal. The position is based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with ability to “wear multiple hats” helping to prioritize and managing daily operations of the LSD Program.
  • Work closely with senior leadership at the largest enterprises running Drupal and the Drupal community to identify, define, execute and manage Large Scale Drupal projects leveraging a diverse set of resources and teams, while ensuring projects meet Members needs and engaging Members in an open and transparent Community process and delivering on time and budget.
  • Manage, plan, and help run our quarterly private conferences for the leadership at member organizations (these events are co-located with DrupalCon, BADCamp, etc).
  • Manage, plan, and deliver our monthly initiatives, including membership update meetings, our webinar series with subject matter experts, and our monthly Q&A series with Drupal leadership.
  • Help build the Program and our Membership by pitching & closing new members, managing contracts, invoices, & working closely with the Acquia Sales, Legal, and Finance dept’s.
  • Build, launch, and update our website, mailing list, event registration system, and work to identify and implement new tools and systems to facilitate and improve LSD offerings and services.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Specific Qualifications Include:

  • Proven experience and an excellent track record in consulting or services industry; customer focused mentality with ability to lead and manage multiple high profile, strategic, projects with senior stakeholders across multiple enterprise organizations, adhering to budget requirements.
  • Foster relationships with high-level executives and leadership at Member organizations optimizing the value of the LSD Membership; help secure annual renewal of Membership contracts.
  • Ability to communicate highly technical topics and ideas to a non-technical audience at an executive level in a clear and concise manner, and translate these ideas into practical solutions.
  • A deep understanding of Drupal and the Drupal community, related Internet technologies, and the issues larger websites and enterprises encounter building and maintaining technology solutions.
  • Experience organizing and running webinars, events, and conferences for 50-250 people; public speaking and presentation experience with the ability to speak extemporaneously and engage a diverse executive audience in an entertaining but educational manner.
  • Creative proactive problem-solver with meticulous attention to detail, a strong work-ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit; results-driven, with the ability to prioritize on the fly.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication (verbal and written), and facilitation / organizational skills.
  • A constructive approach to your work and to a feedback culture combined with the drive to continually develop yourself, your working environment, and the LSD Program.
  • Travel to 2-4 conferences and events is required on a yearly basis.
