Introduction:
Be a part of the Engineering Services team, delivering tools and services that test our products and services for consistency and scale, and enhance our continuous integration platform for automated deployments.
Summary:
Software Engineers (Test) at Acquia drive the quality tool chain and process. To get the job done in a way that can be continuously repeated, we use best of breed Ruby tools for automation (Puppet, Chef, Fog) and testing frameworks (Capybara, Cucumber, Test-Unit). We participate in daily standup meetings with the development teams to keep abreast of new features being developed and bugs found. We are constantly reviewing and improving our process to ensure that the best possible code is delivered. We have an open and collaborative environment, where each team member works both independently and as part of the group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead automation testing of web/infrastructure.
- Guide Drupal development towards best practices for making Drupal sites testable.
- Develop and extend our Cucumber/Capybara test automation
- Interact and engage with the development teams on a daily basis
- Be embedded in development teams (looking at PRs, being at their standups, coordinating releases, etc.)
- Tirage bugs, develop test plans, report and validate defects
- Improve the Engineering process by regularly participating in sprint retrospective meetings
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 1 year experience managing a LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) stack
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Cross-browser/platform experience
- 3 years programming experience in any of the web languages (perl, php, python, ruby) or equivalent
- Strong project management skills
- Experience developing and deploying web applications (drupal, silex, rack)
- Strong Git / SVN workflow management skills
